John C. Lilly (1915-2001) was a famous physician, psychoanalyst, psychonaut, philosopher and writer hailing from America. He is best known for advancements in the fields of biophysics, neurophysiology, computer science, neuroanatomy and interspecies communication. In 1973 he attracted the attention of director Alejandro Jodorowsky and they experimented with LSD, dolphin communication and sensory depravation as a way to reach higher levels of consciousness.
Lilly has some bananas theories about the existence of a "Cosmic Control Center" which he describes on his album E.C.C.O. I recommend getting your hands on it if you're down with electronic ambience interspersed with spoken word.
Here's pt 1 of a interview from the television series Thinking Allowed, where Lilly reps a coon skin hat and pearl earrings while explaining soft spoken theories of Galactic Coincidence Control.
2. A short film titled, Nine Worlds from the multimedia instillation The Shaman's Journey by Thomas Ross Miller (Linden State Museum of Ethnology in Stuttgart, Germany 2008-2009).
